A 7-year-old girl suffering from malnutrition was buried on May 2, she is among the victims of Yemen’s war. Jamila Ali Abdu was too weak to fight her disease and her condition has been deteriorating for the past two years.

“Every time we went to a hospital they told us she has worms and bacteria. We couldn’t get anywhere and we are poor people and can’t go to Sanaa or anywhere else,” lamented her father, Ali Abdu.

Yemen’s two-year war with a Saudi-led military coalition has led the already poor country into a humanitarian crisis. Nearly 17 million people in Yemen are deemed “food insecure” by aid groups, that’s more that half of the nation’s population.
