A 14-year-old in Louisiana drove a car head-on into a motorcycle, leaving two people dead, investigators said.

The crash happened in Gonzales, just west of Airline Highway on LA 74.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m., reported WAFB.

It’s unclear how the 14-year-old obtained the 2017 Nissan Versa he was driving.

The legal age for driving in the United States is 16 and states require a period of driving with an adult in the car supervising before obtaining a regular license.

Trooper Bryan Lee said that the teenager, who has not been named, veered into cross traffic and slammed into a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle head-on.

The crash left Robert Stafford, 42, and his passenger Dusty Duet, 45, dead.

The teenager was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Blood samples were taken but impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The Advocate reported that the state police are investigating the crash and charges are pending.
