Christmas season is officially here at the Rockefeller Plaza.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree arrived on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Standing at 72 feet, and weighing 12 tons, the Norway spruce hails from Wallkill, about 80 miles from NYC. The 75-year-old tree comes from a farmhouse owned by Shirley Figueroa and Lissette Gutierrez. It began its journey on Thursday after being cut, lifted by crane out of its rural home, and loaded onto a 115-foot flatbed truck.

"We're ecstatic," Figueroa told the "TODAY" show on Saturday. "I'm going to cry! Happy tears."

Once the tree is in place, it will be strung with roughly 5 miles of multicolored LED lights, and topped with a brand new star made of 3 million Swarovski crystals.

The tree will overlook the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink.

An average of 800,000 visitors will gather around the tree every day this holiday season.

A symbol of the holidays since 1931, the Rockefeller Christmas tree will light up for the first time this year on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
