South Carolina law enforcement agencies are continuing their search for Elena Katherine Moore, a 39-year-old Lexington woman who has been reported missing since June 12.
Officers conducted a detailed search on Monday, June 15, in wooded areas along Caughman Farm Lane behind Planet Fitness at 560 Whiteford Way and Lowe’s Home Improvement. Police said the search operation included assistance from multiple agencies and was intended to rule out potential search areas in the ongoing investigation. No trace of Moore was found.
Moore has now been missing for four days, according to the police department. Earlier search efforts included using a drone in the area where Moore was last seen, but officials reported no results.
Authorities also clarified earlier reports that incorrectly listed Moore’s last known location at a CVS pharmacy on Sunset Boulevard and incorrect reports that she had been found.
Moore is described as a white woman, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said there is no known vehicle associated with her, and it is unknown whether she has her cellphone.
Investigators continue to ask for the public’s assistance in locating Moore. "The Lexington Police Department is still searching for Elena Katherine Moore," said the police on June 15.
