An Amber Alert was activated in New York City Wednesday morning for a 15-year-old who is believed to have been abducted by his older brother, according to local officials.

The boy has been identified as Ahsan Ali and he was last seen in a vehicle traveling near 46th Avenue at about 4:36 a.m.

New York Police described the vehicle as a white 2009 Toyota Sienna with license plate number JJX-5315. The vehicle was allegedly driven by Ahsan’s older brother Mohsin Ali, who is believed to have kidnapped the boy.

“The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death,” the Amber Alert stated.

Police described Ahsan as a male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds and was last seen wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Mohsin is described as approximately 28 years old with brown hair and eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has tattoos on his arms and chest and has multiple recent cuts on his arms, authorities said.

The brother’s family told police Mohsin asked for money from his parents to buy drugs, which they refused, ABC6 reported. He then allegedly started cutting himself with a kitchen knife, ordered his younger brother into their parents’ car, and drove off.

The suspect is believed to be traveling to Connecticut, authorities said.
