U.S. household now stands at $17.8 trillion, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It’s also the largest total on record. Auto loan and mortgage debt rose, while credit card debt also reached an all-time high.

Important news for investors came out of Japan on Wednesday. The country’s central bank signaled it will hold off on raising interest rates while markets remain volatile. The Bank of Japan rose rates for only the second time in 17 years last week, sending global markets into a tizzy.
