In China’s southwestern Sichuan province, Beichuan county, seven earthquakes struck within five days. Just last week, the same area endured five quakes over the course of three consecutive days.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the five quakes shook the region from Oct. 21st to Oct. 25. All of them measured a magnitude between 3 and 4.7.

It comes after Washington approved potential arms sales to Taiwan last week. The weapon systems include sensors, missiles, and artillery. The value of the deal could total almost $2 billion.
