Beijing is forcing students to swear loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) every week.
To do it, students must wear a red scarf—a symbol of the CCP’s affiliated Young Pioneers organization. They must then take an oath to “listen to the party, follow the party, [and] be prepared to serve the country.” They're also made to promise they'll do their part to strengthen the country.
