Chinese Ambassador Calls on US to Stop Taiwan Vice President’s Visit

Beijing is fuming over a statement from Taiwan’s vice president. On Monday, Taipei officially announced Lai Tsing Te would stop in the United States, en route to South America for a meeting with Paraguay.

China’s ambassador to the U.S. called on Washington to address the matter after the White House refused to interfere with Mr. Lai’s transit.
