When two helicopters collided while fighting a Southern California fire on Sunday, three men lost their lives. One helicopter safely landed, but the other crashed and took the lives of those on board.
Fire Chief Sam DiGiovanna, a 35-year fire service veteran in Southern California, said the Cabazon area is no stranger to firefighter fatalities.
