An eight-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained in an incident on a bouncy castle, Spanish authorities have reported.

Strong winds lifted the inflatable castle several meters into the air during a fair in Mislata, near Valencia in eastern Spain on Tuesday.

Spanish news agency EFE reported Wednesday that another eight children were injured, with some needing hospital treatment.

A minute’s silence is to be held at the town hall in Mislata to remember the victim.

The incident comes following a similar tragedy in Australia in December where several children were killed after falling from a bouncy castle that was lifted into the air by a gust of wind.
