House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) defended former president Donald Trump on March 19, the first day of the 2023 House GOP’s retreat.
“I think the thing you may misinterpret when President Trump talks. When someone says he can protest, it can be referring to my tweet, educate people on what’s going on,” McCarthy said.
