The chairman of the Committee on House Administration, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.), questioned witnesses Wednesday on the use of private funding going to politically-biased election administration efforts. He posed the questions at a committee hearing titled “American Confidence in Elections: Confronting Zuckerbucks, Private Funding of Election Administration.”

Since 2020, some 27 states have prohibited private funding of election administration.
