An illegal alien is under arrest for killing 4 teens in a wrong-way crash.

Michael Salomon Rosario-Cruz was arrested by the Oklahoma State Police and was booked in the Canadian County Jail on May 25.

Rosario-Cruz is alleged to have driven the wrong way down Interstate 40 while drunk and slammed head-on into another car. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer against him on May 27.

According to press releases from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the incident occurred just after midnight on May 22. Rosario-Cruz was driving drunk down I-40 near Czech Hall Road in Canadian County, which borders Oklahoma City. He smashed head-on into another car; local news reports said the crash was so intense that it caused one of the vehicles to catch fire. The DHS press release included a photo of the accident: a pickup truck with its front end badly smashed and the charred wreck of the second vehicle.

Rosario-Cruz was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The four passengers in the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. They were later identified as Kiercy Hickson, age 20; Quincy Jones, age 19; Haliegh Salazar, age 18; and Brad Palmer, 18. Three of the victims were recent graduates of El Reno High School.

"El Reno Public Schools mourns the heartbreaking loss of three beloved recent graduates, Quincy Jones, Class of 2026, Brad Palmer, Class of 2026, and Haliegh Salazar, Class of 2025, who tragically passed away last night in an automobile accident," El Reno Public Schools said in a statement on Facebook. "Our hearts are heavy as we grieve alongside their families, friends, classmates, teachers, and all who knew and loved them. Quincy, Brad, and Haliegh were valued members of the ERPS family whose lives touched countless others through their friendships, spirit, and presence within our schools and community."

Illegal Alien Faces 10 Charges

After being released from the hospital on May 24, Rosario-Cruz was arrested and booked into the Canadian County Jail on a total of ten charges, including four counts of second-degree murder; two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury; transporting an open container; possession of a firearm with an altered identification during the commission of a felony; carrying firearms while under the influence; and wrong way on a one-way road.
Rosario-Cruz is an illegal alien. DHS was not aware of when he illegally entered the country, but Oklahoma Commissioner of Public Safety Tim Tipton said at a press conference on Wednesday that he was allowed to remain in the country under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy in 2015 and received a work authorization permit.

“Four young Americans had their lives taken in Oklahoma by a criminal illegal alien who recklessly drove drunk. The illegal alien struck the victims’ vehicle head-on, causing the car to catch fire. He now faces criminal charges for murder, driving under the influence, and unlawful possession of a firearm,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement.

“These young men and women had their whole lives ahead of them. This tragedy was completely preventable. This illegal alien should have never been in our country. Join me in praying for the families, friends, and loved ones of these victims.”
