In this upcoming boy-meets-dog film with a twist, a military robotic dog named A.X.L. is equipped with the most advanced, next-generation artificial intelligence technology to protect and work with soldiers.
After an experiment goes wrong, A.X.L is discovered by a young motorcycle rider named Miles (played by Alex Neustaedter) in the desert. The dog shows Miles how to pair up as its owner, and the two head off on some adventures together and develop a special bond.
Meanwhile, the scientist who designed A.X.L. is monitoring everything, wants to get the dog back, and tries to keep the top-secret technology from outsiders.
However, Miles is hesitant to turn the robot dog back in, and Miles’ friend, Sara (Becky G), learns about A.X.L. and helps him along the way.
“A.X.L.” stands for attack, exploration, logistics. The sci-fi movie is rated as PG, and is scheduled to be in theaters on August 23.
