Indonesian content creator and singer Lula Lahfah was found dead Friday evening in her South Jakarta apartment, local authorities confirmed.

A security officer found the 26-year-old’s body around 6:44 p.m. local time at the Essence Dharmawangsa Apartment in the Dharmawangsa neighborhood, according to Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Kombes Budi Hermanto, reported CNN Indonesia.

Detectives from the South Jakarta Criminal Investigation Unit were continuing to process the scene and coordinate with the influencer's family as of late Friday.

No official cause of death has been announced. However, Lahfah had publicly battled ongoing health complications that resulted in several hospital stays.

On New Year's Day, she posted a video to TikTok informing her followers that she had spent the previous week hospitalized due to kidney stones. That video has amassed over 557,000 likes and been shared over 33,000 times. In a subsequent question-and-answer session with fans, she disclosed she was suffering from kidney stones.

Despite her medical struggles, Lahfah maintained an active presence on social media until just days before her death. Her final post appeared on Jan. 21, with dozens of comments now flooding the comments section from friends and followers grieving the young influencer's demise.

The influencer had amassed a substantial following across multiple platforms, with 2.6 million followers on Instagram and 793,000 on TikTok, where she regularly shared singing videos, beauty advice, and lifestyle updates.

Lahfah initially gained recognition by posting song covers on SoundCloud before transitioning to original music. In 2016, she released "Panjat Sosial" ("Social Climbing"), a collaboration with fellow influencer Gaga Muhammad.

Hours before news broke publicly, Weird Genius—the band fronted by Lahfah's boyfriend, Reza Oktovian—canceled a scheduled Friday night performance. The band posted a statement indicating one member was "not in a prime condition and shape to be on stage.”
The statement continued, “This situation is beyond our control, and we apologize for the inconvenience. The event cannot proceed as planned."

US Influencer Death

Lahfah's death comes just over a week after another social media personality died from a degenerative illness. Ohio mother Sara Bennett, a 39-year-old former teacher who documented her battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis on social media, died Jan. 13. Bennett had announced her own death through a posthumous Instagram statement in which she reflected on her final months and expressed gratitude for the time she had to complete her personal goals.

Bennett's husband, Rusty Bennett, told People magazine that the family experienced unexpected "bonus time" with Sara, who survived beyond initial medical predictions.

The couple and their two sons celebrated New Year's Eve together just days before her death. Bennett had been diagnosed with ALS in March 2023 and used her platform to raise awareness about the progressive nervous system disorder, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
