TOKYO—An earthquake ‌with a ⁠preliminary magnitude of 6.3 ​hit ⁠northern Japan on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The ‌epicentre ⁠of the ‌earthquake was off the ​coast ​of Miyagi ​prefecture at the depth ⁠of 50 kilometres, the agency ​said, ⁠adding that ​no ​tsunami ‌warning had been issued.
