A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck 50 miles west of the city of Adak in Alaska at 7:53 p.m. Alaska Standard Time, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Thursday.

Measurements revealed it to be a relatively shallow quake at a depth of 6 miles at the westernmost point of Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, according to USGS.

The National Weather Service said that no tsunami is expected.

There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
