My Pillow founder Mike Lindell has filed paperwork to run for governor of Minnesota, setting up a challenge against two-term governor Mike Walz next year.

Lindell, 64, officially filed his gubernatorial candidacy with the Republican party on Wednesday, according to the filing published with the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board.

Lindell's pillow manufacturing company is headquartered in Chaska, Minnesota.

The businessman gained national attention when he claimed election tampering and challenged the results of President Donald Trump's election loss in 2020 presidential race.

Lindell has been sued by both Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems over his claims. In June 2025, Lindell lost a $2.3 million defamation case brought by a former Dominion employee. In September 2025, a federal judge in Minnesota found that he defamed Smartmatic with false statements that its voting machines helped rig the 2020 election.

Walz, a Democrat, is running for a third term as governor.

The gubernatorial election will be held Nov. 3, 2026.
