At Trump Cabinet Meeting, NTD Reporter Shares About Being Mugged, Pistol-Whipped in DC

Trump was talking about the crime crackdown in Washington when he asked NTD's White House correspondent Iris Tao about her personal experience.

At President Donald Trump's Cabinet meeting at the White House on Aug. 26, NTD's White House correspondent Iris Tao recounted how she was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted with the handgun outside her Washington apartment in January of 2023.

During the Cabinet meeting, Trump asked Tao to talk about how she had been the victim of a mugging in Washington.

"I heard you were very savagely mugged in the city," Trump said, adding that his administration will not allow such crimes to continue to occur in the nation's capital.
