According to the California Democratic Party’s latest voter index, two Republican candidates are at the top of the field for the next governor.

Republican Steve Hilton leads at 17 percent, followed by sheriff Chad Bianco at 14 percent, while Democrat Xavier Becerra has jumped to 13 percent, tying with billionaire Tom Steyer.
