Tolkien first used the word Legendarium to describe the world of his legendary stories.

Now we’re uncovering the forgotten, unexplored mysteries and stories of our own legendarium, our world. Shining them through the lens of science, culture, history, mythology, and wisdom. And adding them into this digital library, a Codex, if you will, for safekeeping.

My name is Shelbi Malonson. I created this project for all the kids who spent countless afternoons turning over logs, looking up at the cosmos, and poring over library books—certain that the mysteries of the universe would unravel before you—if only you knew where to look.

I never gave up on finding the truth of it all—from everyday magic to the anomalies in the farthest reaches of space, down to the quantum realm, and everything in between.

So to my fellow scientific thinkers, star-gazers, poets, movie lovers, gamers, philosophers, world builders, theory crafters, researchers, proud nerds, black sheep, and above all—curious minds—you’re all welcome here—after all, “not all those who wander are lost.”

I hope this channel can be the campfire that we tell our stories around. And as Tolkien wrote: “May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.”
