The Heritage Foundation is hosting a panel discussion on “The Diminished State of Today’s Military” at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 18. The event features Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), Dakota Wood, Senior Research Fellow of Defense Programs at The Heritage Foundation, and Derrick Morgan, executive vice president of The Heritage Foundation.

The American military forces are in a diminished state, as readiness issues, old equipment, and a lack of capacity calls into question its ability to defend the United States and its interests. The conclusions of The Heritage Foundation’s 2023 Index of U.S. Military Strength indicate the force is too small, too old, and too unready to meet the challenges posed by adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and global terrorist organizations.

As the military threat from the People’s Republic of China grows by the day, this year’s report card on the services should be a sobering wake-up call to anyone who wants to keep America free, safe, and prosperous in a changing world.

NTD will livestream the event. Access the livestream on this page, and also at EpochTV.
