Police: Girl, 3, Kidnapped From Alabama Birthday Party

Authorities say a 3-year-old girl has been kidnapped from a birthday party in Alabama.

Police issued an Amber Alert late on Oct. 12, after someone in a dark SUV grabbed Kamille McKinney while she was outside with friends at about 8:30 p.m. and drove away.

“Kamille may have been abducted by a man and woman traveling in a dark-colored black or blue SUV possibly an older model Toyota 4 Runner with rims and a tan protruding bumper,” authorities said.

The alert says Kamille, whose family calls her “Cupcake,” is 3-feet tall and weighs 60 pounds. She was wearing a pink Minnie Mouse T-shirt and had yellow, white, and blue bows in her hair.

Birmingham Deputy Chief Scott Praytor told Al.com that investigators are asking any homes or businesses in the Avondale area near the Tom Brown Village public housing complex to share surveillance camera footage with police.

Praytor says there is no indication the kidnapping is an issue over child custody.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 911.

Search Ongoing for Missing Portland Freshman

A search party of about 100 people combed through the areas surrounding the University of Portland this weekend, hoping to find anything that might lead to the freshman who has been missing for more than a week.

Owen Klinger, 18, was last seen on Oct. 6. The 6-foot 1-inch student was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and had a drawstring backpack, police said.

His family says Klinger told his roommates he was heading to lacrosse practice, but he didn’t have any of his usual gear with him, CNN affiliate KPTV reported. He never showed up to practice, the affiliate reported, citing the boy’s father.

The student went to a campus ATM and withdrew cash instead, his family said, according to the affiliate.

The Associated Press and CNN Wire contributed to this report.
