The White House has released a letter explaining why President Donald Trump will not be attending the first impeachment hearing scheduled by the House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 4.

The letter to House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D–N.Y.) from White House Counsel Pat Cipollone explained why the president would not be participating in the new hearing.
