Shen Yun Performing Arts raised the curtain in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 9, taking audiences on a journey through ancient China.

“I loved the interaction with the screen in the background, that’s what blew me away. Plus the dancers are perfect, I loved the choreography,” said Mónica Rubinstein, a dance teacher. “I also do choreography and honestly, I was wondering how you managed to put this together, with such synchronization and so many dancers on stage.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of the traditional culture of China before communism.

“This is my first time, and honestly, I’m quite impressed. Thanks to this performance, we were able to enjoy this show and see all the beauty of Chinese tradition,” said Tom Hong, the president of the Civil Association of Taiwanese in Argentina.

“If you have faith, things will get better. And I think that’s exactly what you’re putting on stage right now, because despite all the persecution and all the obstacles, you’re conveying that message to the public, and I think it’s spectacular,” said Diana Salazar, the Ecuadorian Ambassador in Argentina.

Each performance highlights themes of spirituality, kindness, and loyalty, values found at the heart of traditional Chinese culture.

“It’s a good demonstration that these values exist, that they are present. It’s just that we have to look very deep inside ourselves so that they become more alive. And I think the company and the direction of this company achieve that,” said Luis Alberto Skupien, a theater and TV producer.

Ms. Rubinstein said, “It’s very moving, because it really is very moving to see everyone dancing the same way, in unison, and it conveys a lot of emotion.”

Mr. Skupien said, “Keep going. Keep giving this kind of love and sensitivity that we need so much, that this world needs more than ever nowadays.”

“To be able to put on this performance, [the performers] must have some divine inspiration. They must have very strong faith to be able to train and put on this performance, without a doubt,” said Mr. Hong. “I highly recommend it so you can see and experience the culture, the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, through April 19, before heading to Monterrey, Mexico, on April 24.
