Shen Yun Performing Arts brought 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture to life in Melbourne, Australia, on March 6. Audience members were impressed by the bravery of the company to continue their Australia tour, following a fake bomb threat made against the company and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
David Limbrick, a member of Parliament for the Libertarian Party, said, “In a free society, people should be free to express themselves, and intimidation is totally unacceptable. I don't know who was behind those threats, but I hope that our authorities get to the bottom of it very quickly.”

“If you try to shut something down and make it controversial, it just makes it more sought after,” Jan Kronberg, the president of the Drug Advisory Council of Australia and former member of parliament for the state of Victoria, said.

Ms. Kronberg said, “I think it's a brilliant performance. I think everybody performed to their utmost. You can see how much hard work everybody puts into it. There's genius, there's creativity, there's artistry that is all in the one spot. It's really absolutely exquisite. I loved it.”

She added that, “It's all consuming. It's more than art because there are really powerful messages in this show, important messages.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture, from “China before communism.” Values such as loyalty, filial piety and righteousness, play out in Shen Yun’s performances, which celebrate China's ancient culture.

MP Limbrick said, “I think the ideas around truth, compassion, and tolerance are something ... they're actually things that I believe in as well, and I think the idea of being truthful and caring about other people is really important for all people.”

Morgan Jonas, the president of the Freedom Party of Victoria, said, “The fact that Shen Yun has been in operation for two decades is a testament to the show's success, and I'd like to see more and more people attend this show because we as a people, as human beings, cannot allow communism or any evil force to undermine and erase the beautiful culture of China.”

Ms. Kronberg said, “So here in Australia, we're proud of our freedom that people have; freedom to worship, freedom to come to an event like this, and this is a beautiful place for people to experience what freedom's all about and articulated. I hope one day all Chinese people are free.”

Shen Yun will be in Adelaide, Australia, on March 18.
