“I love this show,” said John Hughes, an attorney. “The colors, the pageantry, the dancing, the singing, it’s magnificent.”
“I love the show, that’s why I come every year. I know it’s a different show every year,” said Chiara Ajkun, the artistic director of Ajkun Ballet Theatre. “What attracts me is that the show is beautiful from every angle you look at it. The technique, the kindness that comes out from the artistry, the special music that goes with that, and the message, the spiritual message, is very appealing," she said. "The ability for you guys to preserve it throughout the years, and the hardship that these people have to endure, that the media doesn’t speak about enough. I think the show is fantastic, and it has a message, and it’s good to go watch it.”
“The orchestra was brilliant,” said Stein Johan Grieg Halvorsen, a composer. “Maybe I will use some of it in my own compositions at some point. It was really inspiring. I will listen more to Chinese music after this.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism, through classical Chinese dance and music.
“I love the idea that it’s China before communism,” said Rahul Sur, a former Chief of Peacekeeping Evaluation at the United Nations. “The fact that the show shows that human beings are linked to the divine. I love the artistry, I love the athleticism, I love the colors, I love the music. It’s so beautiful, we are really, really, very grateful to you.”
“Wonderful magic, and what really attracted me to come is the culture,” said Klevis Tafaj, a principal dancer at Ajkun Ballet Theatre. “It’s the amazing culture that the Chinese people probably have preserved for many years, even under harsh conditions, as they are now persecuted by the Chinese communists. I really love the harmony, I love the movement, and I love the culture that I saw. Not tonight, but in general. I am very, very satisfied. Magic.”
“It shows us, first of all, what is happening in China with the organ harvesting, forced organ harvesting, specifically targeting the members of Falun Gong and other people that are fighting for freedom in China,” said John Rohe, an emergency medicine physician. “And it shows you what China could be like and what it was once like, which was a great nation of free people.”
“Being a dancer, I do believe they work hard. Let me tell you one thing. If they hear our interview, great job,” said Mr. Tafaj. “Great job because it’s not easy. It’s not easy to be a dancer. It’s not easy to do the things that they do. The wonderful thing, the magic that they bring on stage is wonderful. Great job.”
“We’re happy, inspired, and we look forward to the next show,” said Mr. Halvorsen.
“You’re doing a great job of it, you’re bringing people in, everybody knows about this show,” said Mr. Hughes. “And I know that we’re going to be going out, we’re going to be telling everybody what a fantastic place it is to go, or what a fantastic show it is to see.”
