Shen Yun Performing Arts earned deep praise from audience member Carlos Dominguez Linares after he saw the performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 19. The performance tells 5,000 years of stories and legends from ancient Chinese culture, through classical Chinese dance and music.

“I congratulate [the artists] and I want to tell them that they have been impeccable. And that my hands have been tired from applauding them,” said Mr. Linares, a lawyer and entrepreneur. “It is a wonderful spectacle in gymnastics, in artistics, in those scenes where the people who [disappear and then] reappear flying on the screen. That is really something that I had never seen, which got me very interested.”

“I really liked it a lot and I was struck by the strength of all the dancers, who at the same time have so much stage presence and can concentrate in such a way as not to be distracted, while being able to play all the roles at the same time and have the finesse to perform all the tricks in a subtle way,” said Araceli Sánchez Forconi, a dancer.

Stella Maris Ingratta, a physician, said, “It was very nice, especially the 3D part, the scenery itself, the costumes, even the movements and the [combination of] acrobatics with classical dance. That caught my attention because it is not common in our classical dance.”

“I loved all of this. [The performance] does a lot of good. The whole show was wonderful, and the live orchestra sounded divine,” said Viviana Charchir, a business owner.

Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values, a heritage that ancient Chinese people believed was divinely inspired. Since the Communist Party took power in China in 1949, the regime has sought to break Chinese people’s belief in the Divine.

“I think that [faith] is important for you, because it helps you, it gives you hope, and at the same time, gives you a reason to live and to exist. So it is good to keep it in mind and always be on a good side, and a side that helps people positively,” Ms. Forconi said.

“The most important thing is the transmission of goodness and love, which is fundamental for a world that is obviously in crisis,” Ms. Ingratta said.

“It also seems to me that it highlights very important values, such as love and freedom, and the situation of those who have lost it and are oppressed,” Mr. Linares said.

“I’m excited by something so beautiful, so expressive, full of magic, and full of color. The costumes, the artists, it’s something that I think you have to see at some point. I owed it to myself a long time ago to see Shen Yun,” said Mario Alba, a theater teacher. “I think it hits you emotionally when you’re watching this show. What these artists are expressing really touches your emotions. There were even moments where I was a little teary-eyed.”

Shen Yun will continue to perform in Buenos Aires until April 27.
