On the evening of April 16, Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded two highly successful and sold-out performances at the First Ontario Concert Hall in Hamilton, marking the fourth stop of its ongoing Eastern Canada tour.

The evening was not only a celebration of traditional Chinese culture but also a powerful display of the universal values that resonate deeply with audiences worldwide. The performances garnered high praise for their artistic excellence and their ability to inspire. Shen Yun’s message, one that emphasizes the divine origins of Chinese culture, captivated attendees and sparked meaningful reflection on the importance of faith, freedom, and unity in today’s world.

In recognition of Shen Yun’s cultural contribution, members of the Canadian Parliament honored the company with official commendations. Dan Muys, member of Parliament and deputy shadow minister for transport, delegated his executive assistant, Mona-Lysa Din, to attend the performance and present the award. In his commendation, Muys acknowledged the company's remarkable impact, writing:

"Congratulations on Shen Yun Performing Arts 2025. Your valuable contribution to Canada's cultural landscape and your dedication to showcasing a performance that resonates with and inspires audiences across Canada and globally is truly appreciated. Wishing you continued success in all your future endeavors."

In addition to the parliamentary recognition, the performance was attended by a group of nine individuals led by Bill Doyle, regional president of the Ontario Retired Teachers' Association. Doyle expressed his admiration for Shen Yun, commenting on the significance of the performance and the importance of showcasing diverse talents.

"We love Shen Yun! The show was truly enjoyable, and I have learned so much about Chinese culture," said Doyle. "It’s incredible to see such a high-quality program year after year, and the audience here truly appreciates the artistic talent on display."

Susana Nagy, co-president of the Ontario Retired Teachers' Association, also praised the performance, particularly its theme of freedom and resilience. She noted that Shen Yun’s portrayal of cultural heritage from a place of hope and faith resonated deeply with her, as well as with the audience. Nagy shared her thoughts on how the performance encourages young people to express themselves and stand up for their beliefs:

"What really touched me is the universal message of unity and faith. It doesn’t matter where we come from or what we believe; we are all connected by something greater. The performance beautifully illustrated this, and I hope young people are inspired by the courage shown in these stories."

The evening’s finale "The Creator Has Arrived," a dance drama that embodies the themes of divine creation and cosmic order, left a lasting impression on Nagy. She remarked on the universal hope and faith expressed in the performance, likening it to the themes found in many religious traditions around the world.

"I believe the artistic director had a brilliant vision for this performance, and it was executed flawlessly. It reaffirmed the importance of hope and faith in our lives, no matter where we come from or what we believe," Nagy added. "I think everyone who attended tonight has been deeply moved."
