Shen Yun Performing Arts received a warm welcome at the Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 15, taking the audience on a journey through ancient China. Audience members had high praise for the company’s artistry.

“Not only did it blend culture, digital, artistic-like imagery with the dance. It was fantastic. And in the way that it blended the actual dancing and like music together, it's beautiful,” said Tiffany Rolfing, a management consultant. “I thought the music and the musicians were unbelievable, the way they work together, and I appreciate what you've brought to us and the audience today. So thank you.”

Danielle Childers, a business owner, said the “most interesting to me is the background with the graphics, how it's live, and it's incorporated into the story that they're telling as well.”

Ray Testi, a company operations director, said: “I really liked how the music essentially went along with the piece, and whatever the mood was of the piece. I really liked the music and the dance went well together, and you could really feel what was going on.”

Tracy Ferguson, a business owner, said: “I think that every time I watch them get into the precision, and then you see somebody roll out very smoothly into a different set of dance. I think it's pretty neat.”

Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values, a heritage that ancient Chinese people believed was inspired by the divine.

Ray Testi added: “I thought it was great to see something, something positive, talking about, try to turn away from all the temptations that we have in today's world. It's really easy to get off track and turn away from your beliefs. And it’s really great to see it reinforced. That, stay the path and stick to your beliefs and your convictions.”

“The people on stage really felt what they were dancing and felt connected to the culture, but also the future and how they can show people around the world and here in the audience that what they're doing is important,” said Rolfing.

“There's a lot of really good energy. And the performers, and you can tell it was a lot of fun. They were having fun. I really enjoyed it,” said Testi.

Shen Yun will perform at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in Charleston, South Carolina, on April 19.
