Shen Yun Performing Arts received a warm welcome in Dortmund, Germany, on April 8 and 9, captivating the audience with a journey through ancient China. Audience members were enchanted by the display of artistry and had high praise for the performers.

“I am enchanted by the richness of the colors of the entire presentation, and what fascinated me most is this combination with the [3D] screen in the background and how it all fits together,” said Maria Mülders, an administrative officer.

“I must say it’s very interesting. Really great acrobatics, super body control, very great synchronicity, it’s very beautiful,” said Norbert Mülders, a company managing director.

Shen Yun is based in New York and cannot perform in China, as its mission is to show the world 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Since the Communist Party took power in China in 1949, the regime has sought to break Chinese society’s belief in the Divine.
“I believe one should know the past and one’s traditions, where one comes from. What should be preserved, like family, is something that is neglected today because everything happens online and on the internet and is actually no longer done among people,” said Klaus Brune, a company managing director. “It’s certainly a good thing for the Chinese themselves to see something like this again. And also for Shen Yun to be able to dance there again.”

“We in Germany also have a very bad history behind us, one that involved a lot of persecution, which many young people have already forgotten. That’s why I think it’s important to repeat this and raise awareness,” Mrs. Mülders said.

“I also believe that as humans, we have our roots and the meaning of life, which we find in the Divine. And that’s definitely neglected in the current world and situation,” said Daniel Philipps, a business owner.

Shen Yun will perform in Bergen, Norway, on April 15 and 16.
