“It’s been fantastic. I’ve loved the show,” said Tom Meyers, a financier. “What we are seeing is a look back in time, and it’s a much simpler time, and that’s been joyful, that’s been really neat to watch.”
Rana Clarizio, a psychiatrist, said, “I just was so uplifted with the performance, the costumes, and the message that was so positive and really let us know a lot more about the Chinese culture in such a beautiful light. It was really, really enlightening.”
Mr. Meyers said, “They’re really telling a great story today. And for somebody like me who doesn’t know much about the history of some of these stories and some of the Chinese background, it’s a great door opener. They’re great ambassadors. Great job. Wonderful.”
Ms. Clarizio said, “The message that was clear was to embrace humanity, not just being ethnocentric, but it was brought forth in such a beautiful way and very humanistic and encompassing.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun simultaneously travels the world with eight different companies, bringing an all-new performance each year, with brand-new dances, music, and backdrops.
Richard Blair, a certified public accountant, said, “It was a great show. It was really fun with the animation, the way they put it on the backdrop, and the live orchestra was wonderful.”
“I’m just so uplifted and leave feeling happy and actually understanding more about the culture,” said Ms. Clarizio. “We need that in our country to embrace all cultures, especially the Chinese culture. It’s lovely.”
Mr. Meyers said, “You need to go. You’re going to love it.”
