FRANKFURT, Germany—On the afternoon of May 3, Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a performance in Frankfurt in front of a sold-out audience, with tickets selling out months in advance. Audience members commented on the beauty of the performance.

“Very beautiful, very elegant, very professional. Very well done,” Christian Seeburger, a managing director, said.

Edward Zwierlein, a management consultant, said, “We laughed but above all, we admired the beauty—the beauty of the dances, the stage design, and the values conveyed through them.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from “China before communism,” a culture the Chinese communist regime has been seeking to destroy.

Mr. Seeburger said, “What really impressed me was how they combined the dance with the message they convey, truthfulness, compassion, and mercy, and brought these values into the art. I think that’s wonderful. Even though they are no longer allowed under communism in China, they are still being promoted and brought to the forefront in the performance, and of course they are very important for our future.”

Mr. Zwierlein said, “That is rather sad, because these values are universal. We need them all around the world. China needs them as well, I would say. And it would be wonderful if there were enough respect to allow this ancient culture to continue living in its country of origin. That would be good.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, bringing an all-new performance each year. Shen Yun also performs with a live orchestra, which features a unique blend of classical Western and Eastern instruments.

“The blending of these two musical styles was incredibly well done, at least for me. I found it very beautiful and deeply enjoyable to experience,” Sabine Zwierlein-Rockenfeller, a business consultant, said.

Mr. Seeburger added, “I am truly amazed. I first encountered Shen Yun 20 years ago in Korea and New York. And what it has become today after 20 years is truly remarkable. This is very important work, helping people understand the original Chinese values, which are universal. It also brings back memories of traditional China and helps people understand the true, original China. I believe it is very important and wonderful that you have come this far.”

Ms. Zwierlein-Rockenfeller said, “I would say it is a beautiful performance that is not boring for even a single minute. It has beautiful aesthetics and conveys wonderful values. All of this together creates a wonderful combination, so I would recommend it to many people.”
