“This year again, it was a great diversity of dance artistry and cultural presentations from different regions of China, different ethnic groups, and also the various costumes and traditional attire, so the diversity is truly remarkable. It was a full house, with 1,700 people here today in Höchst at the Jahrhunderthalle. That is really impressive,” Michael Gahler, a member of the European Parliament, said.
“It was beautiful, really, from beginning to end. The musical accompaniment was excellent. The costumes, the dance performance, the coordination between the dancers and the background, everything fit together perfectly. It was truly a complete success overall,” Sascha Herr, a member of the Hessian State Parliament, added.
“That is why it is so appalling to see how the communists in China are persecuting these people and committing all these atrocities, which have only been hinted at here,” Mr. Gahler said. “And anyone who looks into this is deeply affected.”
Mr. Herr said, “The message of compassion definitely came across to me. I definitely think it’s important to keep reminding ourselves of history and to always hold on to it.”
Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006 and has since grown to eight different companies, bringing an all-new performance each year.
“Now that you have eight companies touring worldwide, across the globe except for China, this certainly has an effect, bringing broader awareness of the situation to more people,” Mr. Gahler said. “And in this way, it also encourages people, when the opportunity arises, to speak out about the situation.”
“Everything just fits perfectly. I think I will still be talking about it at home for days and weeks,” Mr. Herr said. “From one to 10, I would say it's an 11.”
