“It was very, very inspiring, very engaging, colorful, and beautiful to watch,” said Marion Geipel, a business partner with the Staatstheater Nürnberg. “Very, very beautiful, highly expressive. At times acrobatic and very, very powerful. Powerful yet elegant, a wonderful combination, very harmonious.”
“What came through was humanity and how people treat one another. Also that one should not forget what it means to be human, and the divine as well, the divine,” said Lydia Kovalenko, a doctor.
Ms. Geipel said, “Especially in today’s society, it is very important. To refocus on humanity, on love for one another, and on consideration for others, I find that especially important in today’s world.”
“When [people] experience a miracle or something shifts in their inner attitude, they open up, feel uplifted, and gain a sense of enlightenment. This is conveyed very well in the program,” said Nicole Schröter, an author. “I also found it very diverse. No matter what, whether it was the dancers or the clothing, the costumes, the staging, it was also presented with wit and charm.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, and has since grown to eight different companies. Each year, Shen Yun presents an all-new program, with new dances, music, and costumes.
Ms. Kovalenko said, “It’s so wonderful that eight groups are touring at the same time. The more people who see it, the better.”
“If someone wants to experience something different from how the world is today, they should simply go to this program, to this ballet performance, and experience another world, immerse themselves elsewhere, and spend two to three hours enjoying the good side of life,” said Ms. Schröter.
Ms. Geipel said, “I would definitely recommend it to my colleagues, especially those in our ballet. Because just from the costumes alone, I had one or two moments where I thought, this is something they really should see and make use of.”
