'I Admire Them,' Says Former Vice Economic Minister of Argentina After Watching Shen Yun

Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage in Argentina’s Teatro Opera with 11 performances of classical Chinese dance. Orlando Ferreres, former vice-minister of economy in Argentina, saw Shen Yun on April 24. He appreciated the artistry and message.

“It was great, truly spectacular,” Mr. Ferreres said.

“I had already been to China and seen another show there, but in China itself. It’s similar, but this one reflects more of what Chinese tradition was like before communism,” he said.

Susana Kozuch, a director at Rostower Hotel Rosario and Dolmen Hotel, described the performance as “a beautiful show.”

“Very colorful, lovely music, beautiful dancing, very eye-catching. Really, very beautiful,” Ms. Kozuch said.

Valeria de Lassaleta, a doctor, shared the same sentiment.

“I thought it was beautiful, honestly. The synchronization, the dancers’ agility, the gorgeous costumes—everything was flawless,” she said.

“Spectacular,” said Pablo Borrelli, CEO and co-founder of Ruuts. “It was highly recommended to me, and well, it lived up to the hype.”

“I’m not one to come to the theater. I live in another city, and it was spectacular. The music, the costumes, the dancing. Awesome,” Mr. Borrelli said.

Diego Muñiz, a director of the national government’s Labor Secretariat, also attended the Shen Yun performance.

He enjoyed “the scenography and the way they blend the dance with the scenic and digital elements.”

“The digital imagery, the music—everything felt incredibly original to me,” Mr. Muñiz said.

Based in New York, Shen Yun’s mission is to revive genuine traditional culture.

The theatergoers applauded the performance, which shows legends to modern-day stories of the current persecution taking place in China.

“As long as there is even one human being living under the burden of oppression and without freedom, I believe shows like this are incredibly important,” said Miguel Velarde, economist and political consultant.

“Not only to spread awareness but also to raise consciousness among a global population that often turns a deaf ear to what's really going on,” Mr. Velarde said.

Renzo Berecoechea, a journalist, said Shen Yun is “top-tier quality.”

“I think it struck everyone in the audience at the stalls around me—was the fact that a performance of this caliber can’t be shown in its own country due to international political circumstances. Having them here in Argentina is truly an honor,” Mr. Berecoechea said.

Marcelo Delbarba, a communications director, thought it was an entertaining experience.

“It’s full of color, it conveys a lot of emotion and passion, and both my wife and I really enjoyed it because it’s a different way of telling stories—more fun, more dynamic,” Mr. Delbarba said.

University director Lourdes Puente said Shen Yun’s message is “truly beautiful.”

“There’s a return to spirituality, and this deep perspective really resonated with me—something I also feel at the university, because we place a strong focus on the human being, and the human being is a social being and also a spiritual one,” Ms. Puente said.

A Buenos Aires audience member said Shen Yun is an experience she would tell others about.

“That the show was 100 out of 10,” said Victoria de Lassaleta, an urban and classical jazz dancer.

“Really amazing. The lighting was beautiful. It's full of colors, which is just so lovely. They should definitely come,” she said.

The company has grown from one to eight companies since 2006, where the artists tour the world simultaneously.

“I admire them a lot. I really enjoyed what they conveyed, and I truly congratulate them,” Mr. Ferreres said.
