Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage in Argentina’s capital, with sold-out performances of classical Chinese dance and music. Dignitaries such as Monica Frade, national deputy of the province of Buenos Aires, saw Shen Yun on April 27.

“I’m dazzled, truly dazzled. I knew about the show, about its magnitude, the work, the professionalism, but I’m honestly stunned—stunned by the company’s level of professionalism. The messages, of course, I agree with and share, and I believe this is a performance worth fighting for, so it can be seen in the best theaters across the country,” said Monica Frade, the national deputy of the province of Buenos Aires.

“Honestly, it’s a wonderful show. It’s very moving, poetic, and even though it has a touch of innocence, what really strikes us is that it conveys a very deep message,” said Helena Felip, an ambassador of Paraguay.

“It’s truly beautiful. It’s really a blend of the spiritual and the artistic. I think that gives the performance a richness and a very special touch,” said Osvaldo Ostertag, a Paraguayan diplomat.

With a mission to revive China’s cultural heritage, theatergoers at the Teatro Opera were touched by the values brought to stage by the New York artists.

“Kindness over evil—I think that's present throughout almost the entire performance,” said Maximiliano Santini, a company sales director. “The part with the Monkey King was really great, and separately, the classical dance—both female and male—was excellent.”

“Spectacular. It really exceeded my expectations. The music is so beautiful, the orchestra, the artists were spectacular, the costumes, everything feels like it’s straight out of a dream,” said Andrea Joerg, a former company vice president.

“The tenor was spectacular along with the pianist. I was blown away. Very beautiful message, a lot of sensitivity, and I think that in these fast-paced times we’re living in, especially in the West, they invite you to look inward—to, of introspect. It’s really worth listening and paying attention,” said Fausto Lomba, a music producer.

The patrons walked away with part of ancient China’s 5,000 years of culture.

Frade said: “I insist on the message of tolerance, because tolerance is peace. Without tolerance, there is no peace, and I believe that’s what we need to stand up for. For me, that’s what sums up the performance, at least what I have seen so far today.”

Felip said: “I’m taking away the message of the human need to express oneself—to express one's religion, one’s beliefs—and how that also creates a connection. I mean, one of the things the show portrays so clearly is that relationship between the earthly and the divine, you know?”

Ana Morano, a doctor, said: “The values were always about—how do I put it? Following goodness, that goodness leads you to a bright path that ultimately ends in the spirit, in the Creator.”

“Honestly, I would love for this performance to be presented in Paraguay. I think it could be a very interesting cultural exchange between China’s ancient heritage and Paraguayan society, and I believe it would be very well received by the Paraguayan public,” said Osvaldo Ostertag.
