Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage in Berlin, Germany, on March 28. The revival and showcase of traditional Chinese culture through classical dance and music by the artists was warmly embraced by the audience.

Antje Kühnle, an entrepreneur, said, “so very fascinating. Beautiful costumes, and brilliant dancers. A truly fantastic performance, and also an introduction to Chinese culture on the artistic side. It’s incredibly exciting for us. It’s wonderful to see.”

“The bright colors and the very beautiful, even romantic story behind it were very well thought out,” said Kyial Entekhabi, a writer.

“It’s incredible how gracefully and synchronously they dance. Even with the ribbons and everything, the fact that they’re all flying in sync is absolutely incredible,” said Michaela Müller, a company account manager.

Phillipp Entekhabi, a business owner said, “There’s another depth to it. So it’s not just a dance, but the story also makes it even more valuable.”

Shen Yun draws inspiration from China’s 5,000 years of culture and values, which were believed to be inspired by the Divine. The performance also shows scenes from modern-day China, depicting the changes under communist rule.

“I think it’s really great that something like this is being shown in Germany. And I hope that the ancient Chinese traditions will continue to be preserved and that this art will not be lost. It is truly very touching, and very beautiful,” Ms. Kühnle said.

Mica Fuchs-Endo, a clinic owner said, “These themes of compassion, love, and forgiveness, I believe that’s a very ever-present theme, not just Chinese, but present in many Asian cultures. I find it very exciting, and I think it’s good that it’s being portrayed. And I think it’s good that something is being opposed to communist thinking.”

“[Tradition] is a bond, a sense of solidarity, that is very important for all nations. But unfortunately, this is becoming increasingly lost in modern times. That’s why I think it’s so wonderful that this performance shows that traditional and modern can truly coexist,” said Arman Mohebbi-Tafrechi, a clinic owner.

Shen Yun will be performing in Amnéville, France, from April 9 through 13.
