Shen Yun Performing Arts performed in New York City on April 11, taking audiences on a journey through ancient China. Theatergoers were impressed by the beauty of the performance.

“I’ve been waiting 15 years to see this show, actually, and today I was able to see it for the first time,” said Joshua Johnson, a history professor at Yeshiva University.

“This was by far the most superior ballet I’ve seen here, because it was so engaging and it was so historically relevant, and there was a lot of spirituality attached. I am really grateful for the beauty that I was able to share with my family this evening,” said Anna Tilipman, a Broadway dancer.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism.

Alfredo Tapia, an attorney at Tapia Law Firm, said, “My takeaway from the show is that there is just so much to offer, the Chinese culture has so much to offer that goes back thousands of years, and its lessons have been cultivated from it for a long time, and I think everybody can learn from it.”

Mr. Tapia added that “It would be amazing, hopefully, that China can also be reopened again to their own culture and to the beliefs that made China what it is.”

Bob Roberts, a retired business owner, said, “We know how much you’ve dedicated your lives to this important talent and this important mission. And you all get a gold star for that performance. Very good.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Audience members were impressed by the color, grace, and athleticism of the performers.

Petra Zylla, who works with the German consulate at the United Nations, said, “They are so graceful and athletic. And I wonder how they can be so perfect. They seem to do these jumps they are doing, they must have a great education in dancing.”

“With the contrast, with the lights and the darks, and then you have the brights, and they were, your team definitely is very trained, because they know what they’re doing with the colors, it’s not accidental. They didn’t make any mistakes at all with the colors, because it was all on point,” said Esther Nash, a visual artist.

“The colors are beautiful. The stage setting, everything on stage is beautiful. The costumes are amazing, the backdrops are amazing. Everything on the show, the colors, the lighting, everything is phenomenal,” said Shernelle Wyllie, an interior designer.

“Thank you so much for sharing your beauty. Please, please keep doing what you’re doing. So much inspiration and beauty, so lovely to see and witness,” said Ms. Tilipman.
