SEVILLA, Spain—Shen Yun Performing Arts impressed a full house in Sevilla on March 25. Audience members commented on the beauty of the performance.

“Seeing all that crew, that talent, so many people on stage, in the orchestra, it’s a spectacle,” Jesús Ibáñez Simons, a computer engineer, said. “So I can’t say anything more than that I’m really enjoying it. May they keep going and hopefully it spreads. It’s packed and all the shows are sold out, but even so, I hope it keeps spreading,”

“It was wonderful. I thought it was a very good show, very visually appealing, very cultural as well, and somewhat thought-provoking and honestly, it didn’t disappoint me. I had high expectations, and it met them, it was truly enjoyable and also fun,” Jorge del Canto Álvarez, a financial advisor, said.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen a tenor with such a beautiful voice accompanied by a live piano, and honestly, it was very, very beautiful,” Borja Caba Pérez, an accountant, said.

“It was fantastic. I had heard about it through social media, the advertising, and it really blew me away. The sound, the elegance, the music, the details, the colors, it was amazing. I loved it,” Rosendo Ramos Navas, a pharmacist, said.

Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from “China before communism.” The company also exposes the Chinese communist regime’s persecution of faith, and is one of the reasons Shen Yun cannot perform in China.

Mr. Simons said, “What I would highlight is the emphasis on traditions and I really like that you can get to know the real China, the true China, and not a China with so many restrictions on expressing religion or faith and we’re seeing this in the show, and they’ve made it very clear that a show like this isn’t possible in China. So I invite everyone to come and discover what China is really like with all its traditions, its colors, its music; it’s truly wonderful.”

Shen Yun performs with a live orchestra, which features a unique blend of classical Western and Eastern instruments. Audience members also appreciated the solo performances by the two-stringed erhu.

Mr. Navas said, “That two-stringed instrument, I closed my eyes to focus on the music and I really experienced it, I felt it fully. I loved it.”

He added, “While I was watching [the performance], I was thinking about getting my mom some tickets so she could see it, because I’m sure she’d love it. My mom and everyone else will surely come and leave feeling just as excited as I do.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Toulouse, France, from April 24–29.
