Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage in Shibuya, Japan, on Jan. 25, performing to a captivated audience. Audience members say they were deeply moved by Shen Yun’s artistry.

“It was like the power of the universe was coming down from above. It was my first time experiencing something like this, so I was really moved and it was a feast for the eyes. I really enjoyed it, thank you very much,” said Yoshihisa Shiozawa, a company president.

“I was very moved and thought it was on a grand scale, which encompassed a comprehensive range from ancient times to the present, aligning seamlessly with each historical era,” said Akihiro Kobayashi, a company director.

“The vocalization of the professionals was amazing, so their voices were heard in every corner, which I think is a great professional skill,” said Shibasaki Yasunori, a former company executive. “I couldn't see the orchestra at first, so I thought they had some kind of separate music. But there was an amazing orchestra, and it blended well with the performers' dancing, which I think was wonderful.”

Shen Yun draws inspiration from China’s 5,000 years of culture and values, which were believed to be inspired by the Divine. Theatergoers said they appreciated the depth of that culture.

“In the story, the mountains and the heavens come out, which is really interesting. I liked how it wasn't just about the human world, but also the world of gods and nature,” said Chizen Nakamura, a company president.

“Each country has its own traditions, so I think it's good for everyone to protect their traditions,” said Yasushi Saito, a company president. “The present exists because of things from each era, so it didn't just come about suddenly. So in that sense, it's the deep history that has brought us to where we are today.”

“It was a pleasure to hear about China's thousands of years of history, traditions, and culture through dance, song, and music,” said Yasushima Riku, a company president.

Shen Yun will continue with performances in Shibuya, Japan, on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2.
