“I loved it. It was very good, just so polished, and the digital effects were amazing. But the orchestra was fantastic. And the dancers and the instrumentalists, it was fabulous,” said Jim Brannam, a business owner. “It was just remarkable. And the drama was great. There was a lot of pantomime. The acting was fantastic.”
“I think it’s lovely. I really enjoy the interpretation of dance and fairy tale and mythology and all of the historic nature of the movements. And I love that the dancers came together and decided to really revive Chinese culture and wanted to bring traditional movements and to their performances,” said Kenyon Paar, a business owner.
“The whole show was very clean. The costumes were very modest. Everything was done very cleanly and family oriented. And that lines up. I’m a Christian, but it lines up with my values, kindness, forgiveness, things like that. So it was good. It meant a lot to me,” Mr. Brannam said.
“Forgiveness, I saw a lot of that. When someone was hurt, they ended up being kind back to the person who hurt them, and I think that’s a great value,” Mr. Brannam said.
“I think one of the things that really was revealing is how universal the themes are, that we all share the same aspirations for love, acceptance, understanding, empathy, and kindness,” Ms. Paar said.
“I can see why communist China does not like this show, because this shows the China that used to be, and [what it] should be,” Mr. Brannam said.
