Terri Todoscy, a Canadian writer, said: “I loved the fairy part of it. I love the romance, also the tragedy with the gentleman being taken away for his faith was very, very sad. I loved how there was an element of magic in it where they could fly. ”
Wayne Todoscy, a nuclear security officer at Ontario Power Generation, said: “The choreography was incredible, the costumes are amazing, and the colors. I really like the way they did the camera work with the screens and how they incorporated that into the other people coming into play. It was amazing. The timing is incredible, I don't know how the dancers remember all those steps.”
Nelson Joannette, a retired history professor from Wilfrid Laurier University, said: “I was overwhelmed. Sorry, it's teaching history. And one thing I didn't expect, which I really value, it was teaching the value of religion and belief. And that was amazing, because that's not happening today, and that was amazing. We all have to think larger than ours, larger than ourselves.”
“It's been set aside with communism, which is disgusting. And I'm so glad I have been too emotional. This is so wonderful to see these people fighting back, fighting back the tide of communism. And I mean it. It's amazing, they're strong people. They're warriors and they're beautiful warriors. And I mean that.”
“Right is might. And the communist Chinese party will not last forever. And the Chinese people will have their faith back again and their civilization. They really will, and these people are proving it. This group is proving it beyond belief. So they're an inspiration.”
“When you get a few bad people in charge, they'll never win long-term ever. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, they never win in the long term because of the human spirit, and that's what these people showed tonight. The human spirit can beat anything that's evil. They did it tonight. They changed a lot of minds in here, I think tonight, or at least influenced them or exposed them.”
Audience members said they wish to watch the show again next year.
Wayne Todoscy said, “Next year, if it's all different again, I want to go and see it again.”
Joannette said: “Get the word out! You're making me stronger again. I'm not crying anymore. That was so emotional, so emotional. And also intellectual with both. I'm just overwhelmed. I'm coming back every year.”
