Shen Yun’s Performance in Poland Leaves Big Impression on Mayor

Shen Yun Performing Arts gave audience members in Lublin, Poland, a glimpse of China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture on March 8 and 9.

Among the audience members was the mayor of Parczew, Paweł Kędracki. He was very impressed with Shen Yun’s artistry.

“The dancers’ colors, the dynamics of the performance all made a huge impression on us,” he said.

“It’s beautiful, and at the end I got emotional. My eyes got a little teary,” said Elizabeth Suchodolska-Sak, a doctor.

“For me, this is an extraordinary performance,” said doctor Anna Zwolak-Gniot. “In addition to being beautiful, it’s simply moving to the core. There really were parts in this dance that brought me to tears.”

“There were many surprising and very interesting elements. There was also an element of spiritual relaxation that really flowed from this performance,” said Jaroslaw Sak, a doctor.

“Such an exotic color scheme, beautiful pastel colors, flowers, fairies, a little magical world. I think it captured our hearts deeply,” said Anna Jaroszyńska, who is the founder and an instructor at Jaroszyñscy Dance School.

Through classical Chinese dance, music, and stories, Shen Yun invites audiences into the world of ancient China—a culture rich in spiritual and artistic heritage, and one that was almost lost when communist rule took over the country in 1949. The Chinese regime views these traditions as a threat to its ideology.

“[Shen Yun] allows us to learn about the culture of the past in connection with the future and with the present,” said Jacek Gniot, a doctor.

Theatergoers expressed appreciation for Shen Yun’s efforts. Many of them also pointed to a deeper message highlighted on stage.

“I think that in our most difficult moments, we must always believe that someone will come for us. That’s the hope that was often mentioned, to keep it with us all the time, because that’s the kind of person who might come. It is really worth believing in, because it also gives us the strength to move forward,” said Paweł Maleszyk, who is an IT team leader at Sii Poland.

“The most important thing about it is that it’s combined with a remarkable spiritual message—compassion, forbearance, truth. I think this show is more than just a performance, but definitely something that carries us higher toward heaven, toward universal values, and I think that’s the most critical thing about it,” said Jan Jaroszyński, a dance instructor at Jaroszyñscy Dance School.

“Everything is so wonderful. It made a huge impression on me. It takes your breath away. These dance movements, the lightness, the breathing, everything is wonderful. The evening was imbued with beauty, color, culture, and class,” said Małgorzata Jaruga, owner of Pracownia Natury-Terapie Naturalne.

“Congratulations and praise, for their technique, for their artistry, for their hard work,” said Marian Król, a former business owner at Auto-Król.

Shen Yun will continue its world tour through May this year.
