“Truly impressive, honestly. The word is magnificent. It leaves you speechless, artistically and aesthetically. It’s beautiful—the colors, the costumes, the way they bring harmony to the dance,” Ángel Martín Rivas, a deputy with the Burgos Provincial Council, said.
“It’s been very entertaining, very interesting as well, because the dances and the Chinese music, which by the way you can’t see in China today, is very appealing to Westerners to be honest,” Fernando Maritnez Acitores, a spokesperson with the Vox Municipal Group, said.
“Well, honestly, it’s wonderful. It has color, it has a message, and it’s certainly a reflection of traditional China, which we are not familiar with here. And I think we are enjoying it, you can see that people here are. And I think it’s a great opportunity to have it in Burgos, a privilege actually,” Ignacio Sicilia Doménech, a member of Parliament representing Castile and León, added.
“The more it can be shared, the better, because after all, it’s always about connecting cultures, interrelating them. And as I said, for someone as Western as I am who has always lived in the West, getting to know Chinese culture, getting to know Eastern culture, is truly fulfilling,” Mr. Acitores said.
“I think the message is fantastic. Tradition, kindness, all of it is a remedy for the problems we’re facing today, an ambitious society, an unforgiving society, and I think these messages of tradition and kindness are very timely given the times we’re living in,” Ramiro Ibáñez Abad, vice president of the Municipal Assembly in the Burgos Provincial Council, said.
“I like the music, it’s something that has always caught my attention, and it’s what stands out the most to me. The color as well. It’s true that the color and the movements are very well executed, and that contributes to the whole performance,” Mr. Doménech told NTD.
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, and has grown to eight companies. Each year, Shen Yun brings an all-new performance, with brand-new dances, music, and stories.
“I’ve been impressed by the fact that there are eight companies performing the same show all over the world, and that every year, they also update the show and even update the music for the show, which speaks to an impressive amount of work,” Ignacio Peña Robledo, a Burgos City Councilor, said.
Mr. Rivas said, “I encourage everyone to come see it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. You’re constantly amazed, constantly discovering beautiful things that move you.”
“I think the more people who see it, the better,” Mr. Abad said. “They embody everything that is tradition, everything that is a culture, and I believe it is worthy of being known, and that this Chinese culture should be shared throughout Europe and around the world.”
