Claudio Borella, a business owner, said, “It’s the first time I’ve experienced a show like this. I didn’t expect it, to be honest. I thought it would be boring, instead it’s beautiful, especially the reaction times of the dancers are incredible.”
“The show is stunning, stunning costumes and a stunning orchestra. The story is wonderful, it really gives you chills,” said Alfonso Bagarolo, a tailor. “The music seems almost like a natural backdrop to this show. It doesn’t seem like it’s played separately from the dance; it enters the mind and naturally follows the movements of every dancer.”
Mr. Borella said, “Definitely something I had never seen before and my hope is that theoretically all of China can preserve this deep history. Because we Westerners don’t know it, in my opinion, enough.”
“It’s fundamental. The roots of every people are fundamental. And so bringing them back to the surface is a duty for everyone, for all countries,” said Vittorio Ateri, a foundation president. “I would say that it is an elegant show, very beautiful, very refined, very colorful, and very, very interesting. It allows you to discover a part of Chinese culture.”
Each performance portrays themes of spirituality, morality, and kindness, values cherished even during the early formation of traditional Chinese culture.
“It was very, very moving, I must say, because it highlighted two aspects, in my opinion, an aspect of life, of tradition, the importance of principles, the values of lived experience, which, for you, are obviously those of the Chinese tradition, and above all of that past traditions, which has obviously also been unfortunately surpassed and somewhat denigrated, as you have expressed,” said Alessandra Bertelli, a former teacher. “However, I also realized how the spiritual aspect is very much alive within this tradition, which is highlighted through dance, harmony, elegance, because movement is well-being, it is harmony, it is harmony of body, mind, and soul.”
