Shen Yun Performing Arts is returning to Baltimore, Maryland, with three performances on April 18 and April 19 at the historic Hippodrome Theatre. On the eve of the performance, city, state, and federal officials presented the performance's organizers with commendations to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary.

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland writes: “In recognition of its extraordinary achievements and contributions to preserving and sharing traditional Chinese culture through artistic expression, with appreciation for its efforts to inspire audiences and promote cultural understanding through dance, music, and storytelling, and with best wishes for its continued success.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore recognized Shen Yun for its ability and integrity, and awarded it with the governor’s Citation, “In appreciation for their outstanding services to the citizens of this State.”

You are to be commended for your ongoing efforts to showcase classic Chinese culture, music, and dance with the world. On behalf of the people of Baltimore, I offer congratulations on this momentous occasion and best wishes for a memorable celebration.
