“I thought it was marvelous,” said Mr. Neugeboren. “I loved the lyric parts. I loved the comedies. I thought it was all quite beautiful. And the interaction with the scenery was excellent.”
Arnon Arnone, a contractor, said, “I loved the part where they came out of the screen and jumped back out of the screen and came back into the screen.”
“I think that is a great mission. I think I know a little bit about the history of China. I know what’s going on there now. And I think it is a great wrong to destroy the past and to keep people from understanding the traditions that have made their country so rich through the years,” said Mr. Neugeboren. “It entertains us and inspires us. It inspires us to try to understand how what we do today is not separated from what came 20 years ago, 50 years ago, 500 years ago, or 5,000 years ago. It’s all of a piece.”
Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, bringing an all-new performance each year.
Mr. Neugeboren said, “I thought the performers were incredibly gifted. They clearly work very, very hard. I was impressed by the discipline of the ensembles, how they work together so beautifully.”
