The White House has released details of "some of the worst" illegal immigrants arrested across the country in the latest targeted enforcement operations.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 969 illegal immigrants across several states on Sunday, the White House wrote in a post on the X social media platform.
A suspected terrorist, several transnational gang members, and a convicted murderer were among those arrested that day as part of the Trump administration's ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration.
Here are the worst offenders, according to White House posts on X:
Oscar Villatoro-Lazo, a Salvadoran national, was arrested by ICE agents in Buffalo, New York. He had previously been convicted of murder and was sentenced to 19 years to life.
Edgar Julca-Tangoa, a Peruvian national, was arrested in Newark, New Jersey. The illegal immigrant was wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) for aggravated sexual assault and abuse of multiple minors in Argentina. He was placed on an INTERPOL Red Notice, which is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and arrest a person "pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action," according to the agency.
ICE agents in Atlanta arrested Mexican national Fernando Hernandez-Martinez. The illegal immigrant was convicted of two counts of child molestation and sentenced to five years imprisonment.
In San Diego, an Afghan national and suspected terrorist was arrested. The unidentified man is being held in custody "pending deportation," according to the White House.
MS-13 gang member Nestor Alexander Cortez-Mejia was arrested by ICE agents in Dallas. The previously deported Salvadoran national has a criminal history of robbery and extortion in his home country.
In Houston, ICE agents arrested Jose Guadalupe Garza, a Mexican national, who was previously convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to three years.
